in the url if i choose for example 'paimio' and 'anjalankoski' and press send button. then in next html those options are selected but mozilla shows those selects from the top of them, not so that the selected option is shown. i mean that i see the first 5 in both boxes and first one has that 'paimio' selected but it isn't shown, it should be in the middle or in the top in that case. the seconds box with 'anjalankoski' shows what is selected only because it's in first five options. (btw. current netscape does it too, but ie does that nicely).

Essentially, if I have in the example item 7 should be visible in the listbox when you load the page.

nc4.73 has the same behavior as moz. ie5.5 shows 7. actually this is a bad test case, I should have had 1..10 with 6 selected. In ie that would have 6 as selected and scrolled to the top of the visible box. in #mozillazine we think it might be better to have it in the middle of the box. If someone wants i can redo the test case.

This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working on this is over-burdened. it isn't scrolling to the selected item when it is a listbox, this should be simple to fix.

Works for me, cvs 2001092113 Linux. What it does now is scroll to the selected item, scrolling *as little as possible*. Thus the selected item shows up at the bottom, but it does show up.

This works for me on the branch 09/24...

verifying on windows 98 2002-01-04-03-trunk windows 98 and 2002-01-04-08-trunk

the last one was on linux RedHat
