Build Date & Platform Bug Found:
win32 commercial seamonkey build 00051210-m16 installed on Dell P500, Win98
macos commercial seamonkey build 00051211-m16 installed on G3/400, MacOS 9.04
linux commercial seamonkey build 00051210-m16 installed on P200, RedHat 6.1
Overview Description:
I have a Kinsington PC trackball (v5.0 that has 4 buttons) that I'm using with
Win98. I installed the Kinsington MouseWork drivers to enable the scrolling and
found that the scrolling feature does not work. You are allowed to configure
buttons to scroll up, scroll down, autoscroll, or scroll when you your move the
mouse. In Seamonkey, I can click on a scroll bar to select it and change the
mouse icon to an arrow icon. It's suppose to scroll when clicking on the
mouse button or moving the track ball; instead nothing appears to happen.
I tried installing verison 5.30 and 5.40 from the kensington web site. I am
able to use their drivers to scroll in Communicator 4.72 and windows so I
believe it's an compatiblity issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
0) Install and configure a Kensington PC trackball to your PC to using one/more
of the scrolling features
1) Launch seamonkey
2) In the browser, go to any web page
e.g. http://netcenter.com
3) Use the left lower mouse button (by default configured as single click)
4) An large navigational arrow appears
5) Try to move in a up or down direction
Nothing happens
Actual Results:
The arrow remains in place but nothing appears to happen when moving the track
ball up/down or using the configured button to scroll up/down.
Expected Results:
You should be able to configure the buttons/mouse movements to scroll for you.
