Build no. 2000051608 The composition window should by default not show the taskbar; infact it's debatable if you would want to ever see it in the composition windows.

Any follow-up on this issue. Still in the nightlies.
There is no decision except that this bug will be not addressed unless a mozilla.org volunteer decides to help fix this.

Reported 22 years back, in AD 2000! Thunderbird wasn't even born then (version 1 in 2004)...

So this was before my time, but let's guess "yes"!
Maybe task bar for status bar because it shows ongoing tasks/activities like saving draft.
