On a linux box that's limited to 256 colors in its display, loading a page will display an indefinite progress meter that doesn't look right (it looks fine on 16- and more-bit color displays). Basically, you get a bunch of parallelograms with smaller lighter colored bits between them.

I have to revisit the widget so it uses images instead of drawing the progress. This should solve this problem.

Isn't the progress bar an animated gif now? I thought I read something about it and it sure looks different.
yeah, the progress meter did change. Does that fix this problem, anyone, anyone?
