Mozilla does nothing and although the button show depression they do not actually "work". This also manifests itself at the end becuase when you click finish nothing happens.

This belongs to mail/news account wizard but I cannot reproduce a hang, if I choose Tasks | Mail, Next, Next I get an alert to enter an email address. Doing so allows me to finish setting up the account and use mail reassigning to mail/news

Build 2000-05-22-08M16: Mac 9.04 I am unable to reproduce the crash after trying the following: - Created a new profile, launched Mail so the Mail Account Wizard begins. Selected "Other ISP or email provider", selected the Next button which displays the Identity dialog: - Selected the Next button again without entering any text for the "Your Name" text box and was prompted to enter a name. A similar prompt occured when leaving the "Email Address" text box blank. - After entering a name and email address I was able to use the Next button to progress to the next dialog. - I progressed through all the dialogs and successfully created an account. Question: "This also manifests itself at the end becuase when you click finish nothing happens.". How did you progress from the Identity dialog to the last dialog in the Mail Account Wizard? Question: What Mac OS is being used? Question: Can you try removing your "mozilla registry" file and the "Documents" folder which includes a Mozilla directory and the profiles you have created. You will be required to migrate any old prefs but this often helps.

I'm wondering if the alert telling you to enter your e-mail address is getting buried in the z-order. This dialog has not changed and we're not doing anything funky. If this is still happening on mac, it's a toolkit bug. reassign to trudelle and add danm to the CC.

I'm not clear on what exact steps to use to duplicate this. The first set is incomplete and vague, and Ninoschka couldn't reproduce using her listed steps. If there is still a reproducible bug here , could someone please clarify? Also, what development work is blocked because of this? clearing target milestone.

Unable to reproduce this using today's build, only on Mac OS 8.6 since I don't have MacOS 9. Is this behavior specific to Mac OS 9? If I launch into the browser, and have the default NS6 start page showing, all the DOM operations and animated GIF code cause my machine to slow to the point where everything takes 1-2 orders of magnitude longer. Could this be what you're seeing?

I don't know why I selected MacOS 9 as the OS. it should have been 8.6. This is worksforme too (052408 MacOS 8.6). Marking verified. Just to clarify, when this bug did happen if I clicked next without filling in an email moz would hang (the buttons would be depress when clicked but no action would happen). Alternatively, if I filled in all my information correctly and tired to click on finish at the end of mail setup then it would hang again. Both times I left it for 5 minutes plus... I thought the second case was related to the first becuase I presumed I dialog appeared at the end of mail signup to tell you that you had finished. I removed both moz's registry and my profile multiple times and this happened every time... Anyhow since this no longer happens I'm marking it verified.
