In the attached test case, the entire table cell is redrawn on each frame of the GIF animation. If I remove the <table> tag, only the GIF redraws.

Reassign to kevin. This might be another case of extra reflows, because we leak outside of views.

It does, yes. I'm seeing this on CNN.com. It's not limited to tables, however. In testing, I've seen this in the ender-lite case on pages with just <img><input><img>.
