In the Customize List, International folder, the Country sub-folders are not in alpha order. Particularly Brasil and UK. See screen shot. This condition exists for NS 6 US, PR1 and PR2.

Also, in the International Folder, the Country Folders should use the localized names. For example, Deutschland, not Germany. Country List should be alphabetized by localized country name. Double-byte country names should appear at end of Country List.
I will alphabetize all international.rdf-s. The country names in the international folders should appear in the current county's language. For example: Viewing the international list from the german browser should show all international folder titles in german language. (So the german user is able to read what other international tabs are available.) This is how it works with all languages. So it is ok, if the US browser lists the international selection in english, because if the user click on a title, for example :France, he/she will view the content in french, and the title will change to french also.

Marta, please follow the alphabetization in the PRD. The country names in the international folders should appear in THEIR OWN language: Brasil (in Portuguese), Deutschland (in German), Espanha (in Spanish), France (in French), Sveridge (in Swedish), NOT the current country's language. Question: Will there be a problem displaying the word "Japan" in Japanese (double-byte characters) in all 3 all-panels.rdf International folders? because that's what we would like. This way we have only one translation per country folder: in its own language. The idea is that if one can't read Swedish, the Sweden tabs are not relevant to that user anyway.
I strongly disagree with this proposal (I don't consider it a bug). It is bad user experience. This issue came up a loooong time ago and the decision then was to go with the scheme that we currently have. Here is my reasoning: A user using a German browser is assumed to be able to read German. This user might not be able to read Japanese. If this user opened the International folder in the DE sidebar, they should at least be able to read what the choices are. If the choices (say, Japanese folder names using Kanji characters) are presented in the language that a particular sub-folder is in, the user is going to not be able to make head or tail out of it. But, on the other hand, if it were presented to the user in the language of the browser they are using, they will be able to understand that a particualr sub-folder is for a particular country whose language they don't understand. Two cases where a similar scheme is followed : 1. Yahoo Homepage (http://www.yahoo.com/) lists the international Yahoos in english. 2. Netscape Netcenter (http://home.netscape.com/) lists our own international Netcenters in english. There are two main advantages to the scheme that we currently follow: 1. Technical: A user might not have the fonts installed to view all the languages listed in the International folder. If a user using a German browser does not have Japanese fonts installed, they are going to see title of the Japanese sub-folder appear as junk. 2. Perception: Even if a user does not speak Japanese or French, we want them to perceive Netscape as an International company. If they could read the title Japan in German, they are more likely to be impressed than seeing the title 'Japan' in Japanese rendered as junk because of the lack of fonts.
For the reasons stated by Sudhakar, I'm marking this bug as WONTFIX.

I have checked the FR browser, and the alphabetization is correct. In the English browser though, the Canada folder appears before the Brazil folder. Therefore, I'm reopening this bug. Rob, could you please check DE, and ask Emi if she can check the JA International folder, for potential alphabetization errors?

I can also check them all Rosilene, and I will fix them if there is an error. Accepting the bug as assigned to me..

Um..actually, I just realized, I can not check the japanese one.
According to Emi, Japanese folders are not properly alphabetized. Current Order: 1 US 2 DE 3 FR 4 UK 5 SV 6 CA 7 PT 8 ES should be changed to the following Right Order (Japanese "alphabetical" order): 1 US 2 UK 3 CA 4 SV 5 ES 6 DE 7 PT 8 FR
I will work on this to fix this problem
The German list looks good.
JA has been fixed too. This bug can be closed now.
