With the query modification in query.cgi rev 1.26 We can no longer query from windows NT 4.0 with either Internet Explorer 4.01 nor netscape communicator 4.5. Netscape communicator goes into a hang condition. It also refuses to update the current window, I had to open a new window to get to a new web page (right click on hyperlink). IE 4 gives a javascript error: Line 154, char 1, Error: Object doesn't support this property or method, Code: 0 Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? We implemented David Gardiner's original changes as submitted to the mailing list on our local bugzilla. In that version IE4 on NT works fine but netscape communicator blanks out the version and component fields when a product is selected and then hangs. Netscape 4.07 on Linux works fine with the new query logic.

I was incorrectly marking the JavaScript as being version 1.1. Now that I've changed it to 1.2, you will hopefully no longer have this problem. If you do, please REOPEN this bug.

with the change to Javascript version 1.2, IE 5 (I just got it) does not display the warning dialog, but the version and component fields blank out. In Netscape communicator 4.5 nothing changes in version and component, but the stoplight goes on and doesn't come off until you click it.

OK, I've completely turned off the javascript on IE, I think. It sounds like the stuff you're seeing on Nav45 is annoying but livable.
