(This bug imported from BugSplat, Netscape's internal bugsystem. It was known there as bug #314425 http://scopus.netscape.com/bugsplat/show_bug.cgi?id=314425 Imported into Bugzilla on 03/30/99 11:54) Created by Chris Ellis (cellis@uswest.com) There is an application being deployed to about 4,000 employees that is not working correctly for the MAC users. The scroll bars disappear after viewing a PDF document from a frames menu. Here is how the problem can be reproduced: Go to: http://www.everyware.com/cgi-bin/t3cgi.exe/frames.taf?SITE=support 1. click on "on-line support" 2. make sure you've sized your screen so that vertical and horizontal scroll bars are being displayed 3. click on access to "technical documentation" -- scroll bars should still be there 4. click on any of the "pdf" documents to view one of them using adobe's PDFViewer plug-in 5. click on the back-button to go back to the technical documentation screen Your scroll bars have disappeared. There is now no way to scroll down the page to see the end of it, short of reloading the page. ------- Status Summary updated by tberry 08/17/98 13:31 ------- Reproduced issue on fkeeney's Mac using 4.5 and created bug. I found if you resize the browser window after scroll bars disappear you can get them to return but they shouldn't disappear like this. Customer considers this a P2.
sounds similar to bug #86614, Is it fixed in 4.06
Still happens in 4.06. I tested on tphi's Power Mac 8500 and the scroll bars disappear and don't reappear unless you resize the browser window.
This only happens when you're within a frame. I'll take a look. I'm marking this for 5.0 since only TS1 and TS0 make the cut for 4.5
I got e-mail from someone at USWest indicating this bug blocking a 5000 seat deployment. How is it that it only rates a TS3 escalation level?
This is escalated Call ID 82204. The last comment in the call is that someone from TS is waiting feedback from the customer as to whether or not the workaround (resize window) is acceptable.
I hope they like the workaround, because 4.5 is getting real tight.
USWest is ok with fix in 5.0 timeframe. Will use workaround until then. Please make sure this doesn't get lost but get's fixed in 5.0
Moving to P1
RESOLVING as REMIND
What the hell is this RESOLVED REMIND crap? amusil marked it as a P1 for 5.0 and that is where it should stay until he changes it (since he is the plugin lead).

Currently I don't see the plugin working at all... New URL: http://netstream.ch/d/services/vserver.html Click the PDF symbol there to see if you can verify this or whatever.
Never mind above, its my machine at home I suppose. Can any mac user verify?
