I was seeing this too, but I found a fix.
Read and follow #12 on http://warp/linux/linux-devel-faq.html
This fixes the problem.
This would something good to add to the release notes.
Yes, I just emailed chofmann and leger to ask if the process for release notes
for M4 is the same as M3. I need to know who to send release note info to.
I've added text to bug 4516 which keeps track of release note items to be
written by verah.
However, I have a question: In http://warp/linux/linux-devel-faq.html#dpi, it
states "we have some known issues with dpi settings -- gecko, unlike previous
browsers, sets fonts according to the X server's dpi settings."
Can you tell me what bug number that this known issue is tracked in? I'd like
to mark this bug (4641) a duplicate of that one.

There isn't one AFAIK -- I've seen several bugs opened saying "fonts are too
small" but I guess they get closed again when people find the workaround. 4440,
for example, is clearly the same issue.
This isn't in my area, but don't you think that there should be a bug opened to
have this fixed (without having to use the workaround)?
using builds 19990517 on all platforms, the text is readable without workaround.
