Details
Delete the .msf file of the folder you wish to see threaded.
run apprunner -mail
Choose a folder.
Select the menu item View/Messages/Threads
Top level threads appear (note that we don't have the ability to show children
in the ui, you will have to double click on a thread to see it's children)
Double click on a thread.
When it opens you will find that its children are not only the current thread's
children, but also all of the children of the other threads.
Note: This should not be a M4 stopper since David says that threading wouldn't
be fully implemented for M4. David, pls set the target milestone field
accordingly. Thanks.

I'd like to check this in for m4 - even though threading won't be done, I'd like
to have it working a little bit for m4. But if Chris says no to checking in a
fix for m4, than I can live with that too.

lets hold this for a few days and check it in at the start of m5.
changing target milestone to M5 as per chofmann's comments. That'll give you
more time to perfect this feature, David :-)

OK. but note that if you've deleted the first message in your folder, and pick
the view messages threads menu item, you will crash without this fix. Scott
could also fix this at his level, or we could tell people not to use this menu
item.

we still don't do more than top-level threading, but this part of the bug is
fixed.
RE: win32 build (1999-050506 M5)
I verify that the bug as specified in this report is fixed. I did
1. run apprunner -mail
2. Choose a folder.
3. Choose a folder.
4. Select the menu item View/Messages/Threads, Top level threads appear
5. double click on a thread to see on a multi-thread, I see its children thread
only, no more children of other threads.
