Garden variety radio buttons do not work right on Linux. They usually draw but then they start to 'flash' and can disappear altogether as of 1999040818 bu this was introduced maybe a week ago.

this is (was actually, i checked in a fix for m4) linux specific bug. reassigning to myself.

the callbacks are messed up. im working on a fix. marking assigned m5.
there is another problem here. there is no radio group that we can store the group info in so that we can group the radio buttons together.
I have a fix for this, will commit soon.
