Details
- >on PowerMac 8500/150 96MB RAM: 38,6 secs the first time, 17 secs the second
time
- > on my Pentium 166MMX Win 98, 80MB RAM I cannot give you any data:
-there I cannot startup at all
-after about 10 minutes of attempted startup the icons on my taskbar turn
black
-other running applications start crashing ("Failure to create new window")
-Win 98 reports my harddrive to be full (even though I started out with 270MB
free when
launching)
-eventually the system freezes and I need to do a cold reboot
A freshly installed copy of Neoplanets new technology preview (with Gecko
and Trident) also exhibits this behavior. So do all of the subsequent
post-M4 mozilla installs, even after completely removing the previous mozilla
folders. Which leads me to believe that a) it is related to Gecko or its support
libraries b) it has something to do with stuff that gets installed or registered
somewhere outside the mozilla folder.

german, still see this?
try removing your c:\windwows\mozregristry.dat file and restart.
it would be good if you could also post the console output to help
pinpoint where in the start sequence your failing...

works for me now, using Chris workaround to manually remove the mozregistry.dat
file.
Moving from Apprunner to Other component temporarily whilst don and I set proper
component. Apprunner component will be retired/deleted shortly.
