Details

When clicking left mouse button in the browser window, a blinking cursor appears, making scrolling past the point where the cursor is in the window's topmost position impossible. What you have to then is to reposition the cursor by clicking the left mouse button again, near the farthest down visible part of the document. Removing the cursor is impossible. To make fluent scrolling possible, you have to click the right mouse button in the browser window, before any left mouse button clicking.

michaelp is gone, right? CC-ing rickg.
yep. i'm gone. sounds like a selection/event problem more than anything. may be overly aggressive caching of data by the cursor/selection code.
cc'ing mjudge, this just might be his thang

I don't think this bug is relevant anymore. Marking fixed. We don't have a cursor anymore. There are other scrolling problems, described in other bugs. Plus michaelp so doesn't work here anymore :-)
