Re: linux build (1999-04-29-08)
Steps:
1. Open mail application from Task|Messenger
2. Double click to open mail folders
3. Click on the Inbox folder, no mail list is displayed. It shows 0 count under
Unread and Total column.
Note: Other folders like Trash, Drafts works fine.
Occurs on Linux
Do Not occur on Win_nt 4.0
We now isolated the bug. The bug only happens when we remove all the msf files
before we launch the apprunner application.
Severity: critical → major
Summary: [PP]Unable to display a list of messages from the Inbox folder → [PP] Newly generated .msf files do not show proper msg count and msg list
Whiteboard: QA Blocker
Basically, the bug occurs the very first time .msf files get generated. The
unread counts for all the folders show 0 and when you select a folder, the
message list for that folder does not display. You have to exit and restart
apprunner/Messenger and then the folder list will show with proper message
counts and message lists.

This is occurring because we have paths that look like
mailbox://u/scottip/nsmail//Inbox instead of mailbox://u/scottip/nsmail/Inbox.
This is due to a conflict between how we add '/' in nsLocalURI2Path and
nsLocalMailFolder::AddSubFolder.
Reassigning to alecf who is going to fix this as part of a fix for another bug.

This wasn't marked as M5, but should be. I'm not sure if this got fixed with
the subfolder fix.

oh, fixed this bug because of the fix to some other bugs.
verified this in the 1999_05_03_08 Linux build. Deleted all my .msf files prior
to verifying this bug. After double-clicking on the "nsmail-2" folder, all of
my local folders displayed and the unread count increased (somewhat slowly). I
was able to display the message list in my Inbox and select a message.
