DESCRIPTION When a portion of the text is highlighted, and the mose button is then released, more text continues to be highlighted as the mouse is moved up and down the page. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to the URL http://www.rhodes.ac.za/help/about/ 2. Somewhere in the middle of the page is a section entitled "Webmasters". Find this section. 3. Move your mouse pointer to the first line of the paragraph below "Webmasters". This paragraph begins with "There is additional important information for anyone responsible". 4. Click and hold down your left moue button when your pointer is between the words "important" and "information". DRAG the mouse pointer to the right and down until your pointer is situated to the right of the word "pages.", on the next line. 5. Let go of the mouse button. 6. Move the mouse up and down the page, not holding down the left mouse button. ACTUAL RESULTS More text on the page is highlighted. EXPECTED RESULTS The additional text should not have been highlighted. BUILD DATE & PLATFORM 5/1/1999, Build 1999042908, using Win95 ver 4.00.1111 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Step 4 in STEPS TO REPRODUCE causes the bug to occur every time.... but the bug occurs when you start highlighting from any word in the paragraph and end off past the "pages." end of paragraph....
