unread messages don't show up

Details
The unread message count has been non - zero and is now at 4. When
View-Messages-Unread is selected, no messages show up.

The problem isn't that unread messages don't show up - it's the "unread counter"
that under certain circumstances get the count wrong.
If you run a *nix flavour, i suggest you take a look in /tmp and delete old
mail-related garbage that may have been left there, something that in
particularcan happen after a crash.
These files may have world-readable permissions set, so it's not a good idea to
leave them around really. (There are a few other bugs submitted about this.)
