Hi Erik: yep, we're working on I18N printing. I'll take a look and see if we can assign this to somebody at Sun.

Here is the latest status as I understand it. Please provide corrections. Code checked-in. Works on Solaris. Need review of build changes. Problems with Linux version of xprint library for CJK printing. Sun is trying to help provide fixes for Linux xprint. Sun is waiting for review of patches to printing pref UI.

Changed summary from Linux: internationalize printing to Unix: xprint printing This bug is specifically about adding xprint support which is not just for international. And this feature is not just for Linux but for any Unix implementation which provides xprint support.

Q: Should I add important bugs into the "Bug 6312 depends on" field (I have some ugly ones (like bug 68779) in mind...) Reassigning to katakai@japan.sun.com based on comments in bug 67085. Changing "component" from "Layout" to "Printing: Xprint".

katakai: Xprint module is now fully functional except that we cannot get/set some printer attributes like paper size etc. - I filed seperate bugs for that... Wanna close this one or should we keep this one open (and if yes - why ?) ?
