This bug is listed as Linux. Should it be Mac only? I wasn't sure so I logged a Mac only bug 6866. I did try today Win32 and Linux (1999052008) builds and loading news messages into the message pane works on these platforms.

fixed! the problem was I was generating the wrong file url to run to display the tempArticle.eml file.

Verified in the Mac May 21 Seamonkey build (1999052108). I am successful in displaying a new article. Way to go Seth! I was testing in the newsgroup Netscape.test found in news.mozilla.org. Verifying bug. (Stacey, I hope you didn't mind me verifying this bug) Note: I logged bug 6908 on Seamonkey freezes while rendering news article. According to Seth, he has seen random lock up on loading new article, usually larger msg.

Peter - I don't mind at all! I tried news on the Mac today, and kept locking up before the thread pane was populated (had to reboot at that point). I knew it was just me, since you were reporting other details about news on today's Mac build. I'm planning to try deleting some files and retrying later....
