Mozilla has trouble with the background images on a lot of pages, including, but
not limited to, these:

http://www.news.com/
http://www.castlewales.com/home.html

The backgrounds will often not cover the whole page the way they're supposed to,
or they may get redrawn in a slightly different location as the page is
scrolled, causing them to cover the other information on the page, making it
illegible. It appears that sometimes if you highlight the text which is being
hidden, it becomes readable again.

Also, I have noticed that if you go to each of the above URLs, in the above
order, parts of www.news.com's background will show up in the other page.

I noticed this problem on Data General DG/UX UNIX.

This is way, way better, but I still see a few problems with images. Perhaps
it's not even really the same issue. But for example:

http://www.infoworld.com/cgi-bin/displayStory.pl?980930.wcsenatey2k.htm

Draws one image on top of another. I get the same problem from AltaVista after
a search. Here's the URL of the result of a search for "Mozilla", which shows
this same problem:

http://www.altavista.digital.com/cgi-bin/query?pg=q&kl=en&q=mozilla
In both examples that fraioli has mentioned, the segment that overlays on the
following HTML is actually a layer, not just an image. Reassigning to toshok.
maybe he already knows about this. cc ing ramiro, pnunn and nisheeth
Another interesting tidbit; don't know if this helps. The page:

http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=000Byf

also exhibits this problem with the overlap. However, if I hit the 'Back'
button, then the 'forward' again to come back to it, it is rendered correctly
the second time.
Old bug, old codebase. Marking won't fix. Re-open if I am incorrect.
