Details

Using the 6/6/99 build. When closing viewer, I get three identical messages in the console window: runtime error 6016 - not enough space for thread data I am unable to successfully close the console window, and must resort to Windows 98's "close program" dialog (Ctrl-Alt-Del) to close winoldap. This may be related to bug 7526.
Apprunner closes ok. braden, Apprunner is ok? yes? This only happens with Viewer, correct?
No, not correct. Apprunner still crashes on exit similarly, per my description in 7526. However, I only get the "runtime error 6016" console output when closing viewer.

I have quit twice with today's Apprunner build with no problem on Win95. claudius, I don't have Win98...can you try Viewer with Win98 on today's build and let us know what you get.
I don't have Win98 either :-) but I did give it a try and viewer closed/quit just fine with several tries on Win98 with the 1999060708 build.

petersen can you try with Win98 please.
In the latest build (June 08th) under Windows 98, I quit Viewer multiple times with occuring a crash.

Chris -- I can't parse your comment. Did you mean "without a crash occuring"?
Yes, I meant without a crash occuring.

Given that Chris nor I can reproduce, I'm closing as works for me (until someone provides a reproducable test case).
