build m7 mac g3 300, 96ram, 8.6 when editing prefs from the edit->preferences menu: 1. at launch of the prefs window the right frame does not display fully - text will not appear but items like radio buttons and text boxes will 2. 'windowshading' the window will redraw the window properly 3. clicking on another area of the prefs on the left will produce the same redraw prob. 4. does *not* occur in the 'mail & news' section - this section/subsections always display properly 5. *always* after clicking on a few of the sections on the left that do not display properly m7 will crash with a mac type 11 error

Bill, do you see the crasher on your Mac?

I've got a Mac build underway right now. There was a prefs crasher yesterday (since fixed) so I'll check it out with today's build.

Moving to M10, there are modal dialog bugs on Mac (still, I think) and prefs uses modal dialog functions.

Fixed (I finally tested it out on my Mac build); sorry for the delay.
