RE: Linux (1999-07-01-08 m8) From the prompt window of the yesterday and today's builds, an Alert message comes up in a loop: Alert! did not find a converter of decoder. This comes up every time I select a mail server or folder. I do not see it on w32 or mac
Seth says this has to do with missing images and is not really a mail specific problem. Seth - pls add appropriate comments (since you know about why this is happening) and reassign. Scott also mentioned he saw this.

I'm going to reassign this to Hyatt. This started showing up with the new scrollbar. I don't have a Linux or Mac here to tell what the message I get is, but it mentions the up and down gifs of the scroll bar.
I don't believe this has anything to do with my code.
Do you have an idea on whose code this would be? Eric's or Pam's? I've never seen this on Windows. On my machine I get this on startup rather than whenc clicking on folders. This is really more annoying than harmful, as far as I can tell. So I can try to provide more input on this tomorrow.

Target Milestone: M11
Summary: [pp] Regression: Alert message! → [PP] Regression: Alert message!
The message is: "Alert: Alert! did not find a converter or decoder nsDocumentBindInfo::OnStopRequest: Load of URL 'file:////builds/.../dist/bin/res/samples/scrollUp.gif' failed. Error code: 1. There's a similar one for scrollDown.gif Could someone with a Mac respond to this. I'm pretty sure it beeps which is pretty annoying which means I don't think we could live with this for 9 more weeks. Maybe there's something wrong with the gifs that were added?
I see the problem on Mac!
Do the gifs only show up on Windows?
Do you see scrollbar arrows in the vertical scrollbar in the thread pane?
On Linux, at least, the gifs show up, which is why I find the Alert message surprising. Unless the alert message show is itself a bug.
Maybe this is a netlib problem, such that the appropriate decoders cannot be found for GIFs under some circumstances? We certainly see the same alert elsewhere.

marking verified as a duplicate. I'll track the other bug. Also, I'll add this to the release notes for M8 since the other bug has a target milestone of M9.
