I make sure that option "spell check as you type is enabled". then write any word like "dffffggg" just to see if message windows shows that spelling are not right. However this does not happen. Actual results: Thunderbird is not checking spelling when i am writing a wrong word. Expected results: Message window should underline [zig zag] wrong word so that i can correct it

I can confirm that inline spell checking is broken with a clean install of Thunderbird 24.0 on Windows 7 64-bit. Steps to reproduce: 1. Clean install (and updated) of Windows 7 64-bit in a virtual machine 2. Install Thunderbird 24.0 3. Configure Thunderbird to connect to Gmail (IMAP) 4. Close Thunderbird -> Open Thunderbird 5. Click Write -> -> to: <email address> (use your own email address) -> subject: test -> body: tesst Inline spell checking works as expected. 6. Click Send 7. Click Reply to the message you just sent to yourself 8. Type "tesst" in the message body, inline spell checking no longer works. Notes: a. If you compose a new message, inline spell checking no longer works. b. If you click "spelling" within the compose window, it will correctly spell check the message body. 9. If you close and re-open Thunderbird, inline spell checking will work again on the first new message composed. Im using Thunderbird V 24 the 24.0 release with Windows XP. The "check spelling as you type" option checked, no longer works : the wrong words are not underlined. The language (French) is selected See the attached screen copy. JF Petit
