So, is there going to be a party when Bugzilla sees the 10,000th bug entered?
On a more serious note, I am curious as to how this will work; will the bug
count keep increasing till eternity, or will it get reset at some point?

It just increases forever.
Well, OK, I'll run out of bug numbers at 8388607. I am not exactly worried.
Reassigning to Mitchell, who I think owns all party-related decisions. (I
suggest she close this bug as WONTFIX, but I leave that up to her.)

Well, it's gone by, and I didn't hear about a party. 10000 bugs might not be
something to be proud about. =)

Well, I guess you are right (I'm with Terry, and think this should be a WONTFIX
now, too). But I think it might still be a tribute to Bugzilla's scalability
and reliability that it can handle such a large database of bugs like this.
Perhaps Mozilla.org should use this as part of a future advertising campaign for
Bugzilla? After all, Bugzilla is one of the many good products to come from
Mozilla.org in my opinion, even if being 10,000 bugs strong is not necessarily a
thing to be proud of in terms of the meaning.

Well, OK, now I've waited long enough that no decision is necessary ... quite a
trick. Would love to have a party but am not sure 10,000 bugs is the right
impetus. Seriously, we do plan to do make some noise about the wonders of
bugzilla, and at that point the 10,000 number will be helpful.

from Mountain View.... :)

Well, having just celebrated the Unix billennium (when it occurred at PDT) I
think a 100,000 bug party would be cool. It may have to be on IRC, though. We
could announce the results of the sweepstake ;-)

I always said the reason I work on Bugzilla is because it gets me lots of
chicks, maybe I should have the party at my place.

Getting awful close to that 100K milestone... I filed 99786 today. ;)

Actually, it's the toerh way around. Bug 100 000 *is* the party, so you might
resolve *this* one as dup of bug 100 000. Or fixed.

heh.
And I, being the project leader for Bugzilla, had to go and miss the whole thing
by being in the hospital with my wife.
My daughter, Makenzie Rose, was born 7 hours and 51 minutes before Bug 100000
was filed (but still on the same day). Now that's a good way to celebrate, eh?

No bug, no program, no database is more important than that. Congratulations,

Ah I missed one zero ;) But anyway it's probably better to file a new bug and throw a party for the 20 anniversary of Bugzilla this coming August!
