Details

Build: 7/13/99 SeaMonkey build 1. Remove or backup Netscape Registry from System Folder:Preferences 2. Install Communicator 4.61 (ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/macos/8.x/ppc/1999-07-13-18-M9/) 3. Launch Communicator 4.61 and exit 4. Launch apprunner and exit 5. Launch Communicator 4.61, open http://slip/softupdate/BiggerRegToy.html to view the Netscape Registry RESULT: There is a Communicator node for 4.61. There is no other Communicator node. EXPECTED RESULT: There exists a Communicator #2 that corresponds to apprunner. NOTE: Triggering jar files from apprunner does not register to Netscape Registry.

This is not a mozilla bug. Please enter it in Bugsplat against 4.61 with a target fix version of 4.7 and assign it to jj (I think?) with a CC to jussi and marek. This must get fixed in 4.7 if it's still broken. Obviously there's not much we can do about 4.61 itself.
